Registering A Company Apple Device With AzureAD

As part of our conditional access policies, all devices that will access CESA 6 data will need to have their devices enrolled with Microsoft. Similar to how personal phones can enroll in the BYOD profile to accomplish this, company owned Apple devices will need to register with Microsoft AzureAD in order to gain access to CESA 6 data. If the registration is not completed it may impact your ability to sign into your CESA 6 account, access the Google or Microsoft Suite of applications (including email and drive), or use your CESA 6 account for SSO on that device.

Because company owned Apple devices are already managed by Mosyle, there is a simple registration workflow that exists within the Mosyle application. This process does require the Microsoft authenticator to be installed on iOS devices and the Company Portal on macOS devices. Both should already be installed on the respective devices.

How to Enroll using an iOS device

  1. Open the Mosyle App
  2. Select "My Tasks" in the sidebar
  3. There should be one pending task labeled "Register in Azure AD". Select "Run Now" next to the task
  4. You should see a prompt that says "Command sent to the device"
  5. A prompt from the Microsoft Authenticator should show up. Tap your account to select it. You may be asked to sign in.
  6. Select "Register"

  7. You will now receive a prompt that the Conditional Access task was executed successfully. If not, please refresh the tasks in Mosyle and try again. If you continue to receive errors contact the it department for assistance.

How to Enroll using a macOS device

  1. Open Mosyle. The icon may be located on your taskbar, in your apps, or you may have a pop-up that says "Activity required"
  2. Select "My Tasks" in the sidebar
  3. There should be one pending task labeled "Register in Azure AD". Select "Run Now" next to the task
  4. It will open the company portal which takes a moment to load
  5. Select your current account, then "Continue"
  6. It will route you back to Mosyle where you will now receive a prompt that the Conditional Access task was executed successfully. If not, please refresh the tasks in Mosyle and try again. If you continue to receive errors contact the it department for assistance.
