Your camera is traditionally only able to be used in one application (Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) at a time. Windows 11 now allows users to set cameras so they can be used with multiple apps at once. This setting provides greater accessibility and will prevent apps from monopolizing the camera when swapping between meeting platforms.

This feature does need to be enable for every camera device you want to use it for. To enable this feature:

  1. Open your settings.
  2. Select "Bluetooth & Devices" in the left blade.
  3. Select "Cameras".
  4. Select the camera you wish to enable the feature on.
  5. Next to Advanced camera options select "Edit".
  6. Toggle the allow multiple apps to use camera at the same time switch to "On".
  7. Select "Apply".
